Outdoor learning

At The Language Nursery, outdoor play is more than fun — it’s vital for young children’s brain development, supporting cognitive growth, focus, and creativity. Our curriculum includes regular outdoor experiences where children explore, problem-solve, and build confidence while connecting with nature and their peers. In addition to our nursery garden, we will frequently visit Romsey Recreation Ground, only a five-minute walk away, where children have ample space to run, play, and explore.

Forest school- Chasing Nature’s Changes

Our Forest School program, Chasing Nature’s Changes, invites children to explore the outdoors throughout the year. They engage with the natural world, observe seasonal changes, and develop curiosity, resilience, and teamwork. This hands-on approach to learning supports cognitive growth, emotional well-being, and physical development, helping children connect with nature while having fun and discovering new skills.

PE Sessions – Active, Strong, and Confident

Our PE sessions at The Language Nursery encourage children to move, play, and develop their physical skills in a fun and supportive environment. Through games, exercises, and team activities, children build coordination, strength, balance, and confidence. These sessions also promote teamwork, focus, and healthy habits, helping children enjoy being active while developing essential motor and social skills.
